After Care Instructions Please read the
aftercare instructions carefully, they will answer most of the questions that
arise in the days following the procedure(s). Human skin takes some time to heal
and each person's ability to heal is different. You will go through different
phases of healing, during which time the pigment may appear to have completely
disappear or fade so badly that you may believe that little pigment was
implanted. Use patience... Lips are
particularly complex since we are dealing with more muscular tissue.
Changes that occur during the healing process may include an apparent complete
loss of pigment, a "whitening" look to the lips, or color too dark. The
color typically looks darker immediately after the procedure simply because it
is fresh and the surface skin is fairly clear at that point. As the
surface skin sloughs off and new cells rise upward, there can be a loss of some
of the surface skin's transparency, leaving the color slightly lighter than
immediately after the procedure. This is natural and to be expected.
This is a "wound" to the skin and must be given time to heal.
Eyeliner-Lash Enhancement A natural reaction to procedures performed close to
the eye is to have tears and watery eyes for a short time. The saline quality of
your own tears will assist in the healing in that area. Do not wipe the tears
away with a heavy hand, blot or dab the tears until they have stopped.
Wiping can press the skin and actually force some of the pigment out of the
newly implanted area.
Remember that any product that you use around your
eyes can possibly cause the pores to become blocked with product. Pores blocked
with product may cause an impaction leading to an infection. Expect to have redness, itchy eyes, and mild swelling.
Many clients are able to go to dinner the same night this procedure is
performed. An application of ice for a short period can relieve much of the
"tight" feeling that may occur. Bruising is extremely rare but possible. Make sure your touch up is scheduled during your
procedure visit for 1-2 weeks later. Eyebrows Immediately following the procedure, your brows will
appear darker than the final healed outcome. The color will lighten,
become dry and flaky, and the finalized color will become visible over the next
week or two.
Dry flaky skin is normal and should not be picked
off. Let it slough off naturally. It may itch, but resist the urge
to pick the area. An application of an icepack to the brows following
the procedure can reduce the redness and inflammation. The area will be red and
may have a "hot" feeling for a few hours. Use the ointment that is supplied by the
technician/artist to keep the area moist. Be aware that some skin
ointments can actually cause the ink to be extracted from the skin. Do not use
any exfoliation treatments or apply glycolic acid products to the area as this
can cause the color to diminish. Make sure your touch up is scheduled during your
procedure visit for 1-2 weeks later. Lipliner & Lip Color CAUTION: If you get fever blisters /cold sores,
begin taking an anti-viral medication prior to the procedure to reduce the
possibility of flare-ups.
Immediately following the
procedure (whether lip liner or lip liner and full lip color) the color will
appear much darker than the desired color. However, the skin will slough and
shed and the color that was originally chosen will start becoming visible. Use the ointment that is supplied by the
technician/artist to keep the area moist. Apply it gently over the entire
area, do not press it into the skin. Lips will swell and feel
very tender for at least one day, be prepared and keep them moistened with the
supplied ointment.. Make sure your touch up or follow-up appointment is scheduled
during your procedure visit for 5 weeks later. Areas that have not fully
developed their color will be treated at that time.
